6-hydroxydopamine (6OHDA): Unilateral destruction of dopaminergic neurons, induced by stereotaxic injection of 6OHDA into the substantia nigra of rats, causes motor deficits after 3 days, with substantia nigra neuronal damage. 6OHDA injected into the medial forebrain bundle induces similar deficits.
